The Waterbury Public Library is seeking candidates to fill a part-time Circulation Assistant position. As a member of our 7-person team, this staff person provides outstanding customer service to patrons at the front desk, on the phone, and via email, and supports other functions of the library by completing clerical tasks and projects relating to patron services. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of public libraries as community hubs and places of lifelong learning. An outgoing personality, attention to detail, and the flexibility to juggle multiple tasks are traits we are seeking. Some experience with computers and software is important. This position is 20 hours per week. Benefits include pro-rated paid sick and vacation time, support for professional development training, and membership in the Vermont Library Association.
The Library is currently open for both Curbside Service (10 hours per week) and limited Walk-in Service (15 hours per week) with all of the necessary health and safety protocols in place. Our patrons have been very understanding of the current requirements and limitations.
A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service field desirable. Willingness to work some evening hours and Saturday mornings is required.
